Boot Camp, Weissborn - April 1942

Before the 176th will be deployed to Russia, it will be equipped and trained in a boot camp in the Weissborn area of Eastern Prussia. The task of the day is to form a formidable troop out of those pesky young citizens. Landsers they want to be?
Well, excessive training is what they get!
The first Squad is to practice normal movement and fast Move under combat situations.

The Squad hides behind a house corner before the Squad leader gives orders for a normal movement to the next cover (all infantry move 8").

Next is a fast move which includes a normal movement all infantry men need to conduct first. Next, roll two dice. the result will be compared to each soldier's individual REP. For each dice passed, the soldier can move another 4", totalling a max. of 16".
This fast move worked very well as all soldiers managed to stay in line for a full 16" move (all passed two dice against their REP).

The Squad leader keeps the movement exercise across the entire compound going until well after supper time. Still wanting to be a Landser, lads?

  1. Very well done. I like that you are learning the rules step by step instead of jumping right in. I hope the Stop Boxes are working out of you.
